SUMMARY
Assist in daily Floral operations and deliver a Five-star, Five-diamond experience to all guests. Create and maintain all floral arrangements throughout the property to ensure a luxury experience. Serve as a support to the florist by completing all assigned duties to enhance the guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrate knowledge with floral designs
2. Understand art, style and the use of color to create beautiful arrangements
3. Manage the preparation of flowers and create arrangements for special events
4. Oversee inventory management, labor forecast and checkbook management
5. Maintain professional etiquette with all guests and employees
6. Be knowledgeable of all hotel services, hotel features, local attractions and history of the Inn, and be able to speak to these when guest inquires
7. Must greet all guests as though you are welcoming them to your own home
8. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas
9. Must meet Forbes Standards in all daily operations and guest interactions
10. Responsible for reviewing the floral report to determine the quantity of floral arrangements needed
11. Responsible for following standard operating procedures and safety regulations
12. Stock and maintain workspace
13. Attend meetings as required
14. Complete all assigned projects by the Director of Hotel Operations
15. Must follow all disinfecting and sanitization policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
1. 3 years of Floral experience
2. Must be able to work weekends and have a flexible work schedule, including holidays
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos
Desirable
1. Familiarity with Forbes Standards
2. Ability to communicate with a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
3. Prior experienced working in a 4 or 5 star luxury property
SKILLS
1. Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner
2. Ability to work independently, as well as in a close team environment
3. Ability to use standard floral equipment
4. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
5. Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
6. Ability to speak using clear and professional language
7. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
8. Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
9. Must always be compliant with quality assurance expectations and standards
10. Ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner
PHYSICAL DEMAND
1. Must be able to lift 30 lbs
2. Able to stand, bend and walk for long periods of time
3. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and climbing
